Why This Lifelong Democrat Is Supporting John Frey
Decades of public service and trusted leadership on behalf of Ridgefield residents.

To the Editor:
As a lifelong Democrat, I don’t always find myself supporting candidates from the other side of the aisle — but John Frey has earned my respect and my vote for re-election to the Ridgefield Police Commission.
Years ago, when my family was struggling to resolve a complicated issue with an insurance company and no one else would listen, John — then our state representative — personally stepped in to help. He didn’t ask about party affiliation; he simply got involved, stayed engaged, and through his trademark perseverance, made a real difference. That kind of responsiveness and compassion has always set him apart.
I’ll never forget his seemingly around-the-clock storm updates whenever the power was out across town. He was steady, informed, and genuinely cared about keeping residents connected and reassured during stressful times.
John is a man of integrity, empathy, and quiet determination — qualities that have guided his decades of service to Ridgefield. His history, service and involvement in the community runs deep. It’s no surprise the Rotary Club named him Citizen of the Year. A lifelong son of this town, John has consistently devoted himself to making Ridgefield a better, safer place for everyone.
Having someone with his character and experience helping to oversee our community’s safety feels exactly right. Ridgefield is fortunate to have him.
