• Former Connecticut Funeral Home Director Plans Plea Deal With Up to 7½ Years in Prison in Prepaid Funeral Fund Case (wealthofgeeks.com) — Court proceedings at Rockville Superior Court are moving forward for a former funeral home director accused of diverting more than $1 million in prepaid funeral funds from customers across several Connecticut towns. He’s accepted a plea deal capping prison time at seven and a half years, while the state tightens rules and creates a compensation fund to better protect future Rockville-area families.
   

• Somers homicide, home invasion suspect now facing additional charges (fox61.com) — A Somers homicide and home invasion suspect is now facing additional weapons charges after being arrested during a court appearance at Rockville Superior Court. State police say investigators recovered multiple legally owned firearms but also found high-capacity magazines, leading to two new charges and a $20,000 bond that matter to residents following serious crime cases in the Rockville–Enfield–Somers area.
