Officers, Killed Suspect (officer.com) — Rocky Hill residents are connected to a high-profile police shooting after a local officer, Jonathan Escobar, joined a Hartford-initiated pursuit that ended in a Newington gunfight. Newly released bodycam and dashcam footage show the chaotic chase and exchange of gunfire that wounded Escobar and Hartford Officer Diaz and left the suspect dead, while investigators detail how the incident unfolded across multiple towns.
• Conn. officer arrested, accused of taking physical agility test at another PD while collecting workers' comp (police1.com) — Rocky Hill comes into focus as the place where a Norwich police officer, Ryan Dunn, surrendered at the local police department on a workers' compensation fraud warrant. State officials allege he collected disability benefits for a knee injury while passing a demanding physical agility test for another department, and Norwich police say they've placed him on paid leave pending an administrative review.
