
Democratic State Senator Paul Doyle accepted his party’s nomination this week at the 9th District State Senate Democratic Convention, held at the Rocky Hill Community Center. The unanimous vote marks the fourth time that Doyle has been chosen to be his party’s standard bearer in the district, which includes the towns of Cromwell, Middletown (part), Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield (part).
“It is an honor to once again have the opportunity to represent the great towns of the 9th District at the Connecticut State Senate,” said Doyle. “I appreciate the vote of confidence given to me by the convention’s delegates, and look forward to a robust campaign and a solid victory in November.”

Doyle is currently serving his third term in the State Senate where he holds the leadership positions of Chair of the General Law Committee, Vice-Chair of the Judiciary and Housing Committees, and a member of the Regulations Review Committee. Before his election to the State Senate in 2006, Doyle represented the 28th Assembly District in the State House for six terms.
In his acceptance speech, Doyle focused on the state of the Connecticut economy and emphasized it is slowly improving and he is proud of his role in the passage of the bi-partisan jobs bill that assists small businesses in Connecticut - the real job generators in our economy.

“It has been a privilege to represent the families of the 9th District,” said Doyle. “Our state faces many challenges, but working together I know we can make Connecticut an even better place to live, work and raise a family.”
