Car Carrying News Staffer Flips After Crash on I-91 in Rocky Hill

A TV news personality says the crash involved a colleague.

ROCKY HILL, CT — It took firefighters nearly a half-hour to cut crash victims out of a vehicle after it was hit and subsequently rolled over on Interstate-91 on Wednesday night. They were apparently staffers at a TV news station.

The crash took place at 6:45 p.m., according to a fire department Facebook post. Rocky Hill Firefighter located the crash in I-91 Northbound about a before exit 23, according to the post.

Two cars had crashed and one of them rolled over, according to the post.

The road conditions at the time were "extremely icy," according to the post.

The occupants were extricated by 7:10 p.m, according to the post. WFSB anchor Dennis Douse Tweeted that it was a co-worker:

One of my @WFSBnews colleagues is recovering today after a night in the hospital because someone rear-ended him on I-91 going so fast, it flipped his car over.

House said on Thursday the person involved in the crash is not an on air-personality. The staffer was off-duty in his own car, he added.
