Car, Credit Card Thieves Being Sought in Rocky Hill
Vehicle thefts in Rocky Hill led to stolen card purchases in Manchester and Hartford, police said.
ROCKY HILL, CT — Rocky Hill police have released images of suspects in a crime spree that began with car break-ins locally and continued with purchases at a Manchester Walmart and Hartford Walgreens via a card taken from one of the vehicles.
The incident took place on May 18 near 11 Kensington Lane, Rocky Hill police said.
At 2:13 that morning, a Rocky Hill Police Department patrol officer observed what appeared to be three or four people breaking into motor vehicles at an apartment complex near the Cromwell line, a department spokesman said.

When confronted, the suspects ran to a nearby vehicle and engaged the patrol officer in a pursuit southbound on Route 3 into Cromwell, police said.
The patrol officer terminated the pursuit, police said.

It was later determined that the suspect vehicle had been recently stolen from a nearby location and not yet
reported to Rocky Hill police.
In the course of the investigation officers learned that an additional motor vehicle had been stolen from the area, police said. Several vehicles are also broken into, police said.
A credit card taken from one of the vehicles was used for purchases at a Walmart in Manchester and a Walgreens in Hartford within hours after the pursuit, police said.
Investigators determined that the stolen vehicle from Rocky Hill was driven to the stores, police said.
