Connecticut River Ferry Service Should Resume Wednesday

It had been shut down for repairs.

ROCKY HILL, CT — The historic Glastonbury-to-Rocky Hill ferry on the Connecticut River is expected to be back in service for the Wednesday commute.

It was closed on Tuesday for a mechanical issue the state Department of Transportation said in an alert.

That alert was removed by Tuesday night.

The ferry is the nation's oldest continuously operating service, dating back to 1655.
