Crews Remove 2 Cars In CT River Near Ferry Park: Officials

ROCKY HILL, CT — Police and fire crews on Saturday worked to remove two cars from the Connecticut River after the vehicles were driven into the water overnight near Ferry Park in Rocky Hill, according to officials.

A post by the Rocky Hill Fire Department confirmed the vehicles were submerged and leaking gas into the water. The vehicles were driven into the water near the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry.

The boat launch at Ferry Park was closed, officials said. Ferry service was temporarily suspended but has since resumed, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Officials have not reported any injuries.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was also on scene, officials said.
