Deadline Looming on $1 Million Powerball Ticket

An unclaimed $1 million lottery prize is set to expire.

ROCKY HILL, CT — The clock is ticking on an unclaimed $1 million lottery prize that is set to expire on July 5.

The ticket was purchased at the Super Stop & Shop in the Kensington section of Berlin for the Jan. 6 Powerball drawing. The player didn’t win the jackpot, but the ticket matched the first five numbers drawn for a $1 million payout.

"It’s heartbreaking ... somebody purchased a Powerball ticket in hopes of winning the multi-million dollar jackpot," Connecticut Lottery Officials said in a statement released Monday. "That person has yet to claim the prize and the ticket expires in three days. Check your tickets."
