Details On Services For Rocky Hill Fire Captain Released
Friends of Captain James Lamarre, who recently died of "work-related cancer," can call on his family and attend his funeral this week.
ROCKY HILL, CT — The Rocky Hill Fire Department has released details on services for Captain James Lamarre, who died this month after battling cancer for several months.
Lamarre's friends can call on his family from 4-7 p.m. Thursday (March 17) at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home (34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield).
The next day (Friday, March 18), a mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. at Saint James Church (767 Elm St., Rocky Hill).

Lamarre died in the line of duty from "work-related cancer," the department said in a Facebook post announcing his death.

Prior to his death, Lamarre served the Rocky Hill Fire Department for 27 years in a variety of roles, including career apparatus mechanic.
He was also a U.S. Army veteran and was chaplain of the Benino-Beck VFW Post 2138 in Rocky Hill, his fire department said.
