Fracked "Natural" Gas Transfer Station in Rocky Hill? Public hearing on Monday, Dec. 21st at 6:30 p.m., Rocky Hill Town Hall

Pentagon Energy plan to use a business park in Rocky Hill for a fracked gas transfer station. CT Sierra Club and 350CT want to stop it.

ROCKY HILL is looking to lease a portion of its undeveloped business park off Old Forge Road to Pentagon Energy LLC for use as an infusion station, where trucks carrying compressed natural gas would discharge into the Algonquin pipeline.

The additional fuel and power this project supplies are not needed locally. The state is converting gullible consumers to natural gas for residential heating although methane gas is WORSE for the climate than the residential heating oil currently used in CT, and isn’t cheaper. These ratepayer subsidized conversions are fabricating the need for more fracked methane gas in the state.

This is the kind of project that must be stopped if we are to transition to a 100% renewable energy future. Sierra Club CT Chapter and 350CT made headlines with our participation at the Hartford MDC gas pipeline hearing and we plan to do the same at the Dec. 21st town hall meeting in Rocky Hill. If you can’t make the meeting, please contact the town councilors and mayor and ask them to reject the project. Contact info here:
