New physical therapy group in Newington!

Newington, CT – January 20, 2016 – Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers (PTSMC) added its 16th Connecticut location in Newington! The company will open their newest clinic through a partnership between Alan Balavender, PT, MS, PTSMC President and Owner, and Joe Allen, PT, DPT, OCS Partner and Director.

Joe began his career at the PTSMC clinic in Westbrook after graduating from Sacred Heart University’s Doctoral PT program and working in the outpatient physical therapy setting. After a year on the job, Joe returned to SHU for their Orthopaedic Residency Program. He has 6 years of clinical experience and is a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy. He enjoys working with patients of all ages and is a passionate advocate for patient education.

When asked why he chose to open a practice in Newington Joe said, “This town is a great, close-knit community and I am thrilled about the opportunity to provide Newington residents with exceptional medical care in their own backyard”. He is committed to improving the quality of people’s lives by providing unmatched experiences, clinical excellence and lifelong relationships.
