Rocky Hill Police Warn Residents About Scam
Police said they are aware of at least one instance of the department's number being spoofed in a scam.
ROCKY HILL, CT — Police are warning the community after an incident in which the department's phone number was spoofed to scam a resident out of money. Police wrote in a tweet that the caller identified themselves as a Rocky Hill officer and requested gift card PIN numbers over the phone.
We are aware of at least one incident where our phone number,(860)258-7640 may have been spoofed to scam a resident out of money.
