SUNDAY, JANUARY 28, 2018
This is an extremely important day in the life of the Rocky Hill Fire Department. Eight Firefighters, one son of a Firefighter, and Fire Chief Michael Garrahy gathered at Station 1 on Old Main Street to switch out all of the equipment from the old fire apparatus to the new Engine 1. Today, Engine 1 officially goes online which completes the massive project to replace all of Rocky Hill’s fire apparatus.
As of today, Rocky Hill has three engines, two ladder trucks, and one rescue truck. There are also three utility trucks, one for each station.

Engine 1 is in actuality an Engine-Rescue vehicle. Besides carrying 500 gallons of water, the engine also carries 30 gallons of foam and all the materials necessary respond to motor vehicle accidents.
Special thanks to those who took the time out of their weekend to transfer all the equipmpent allowing Engine 1 to be ready to respond to all the variety of emergencies required of the Fire Department.

Besides Chief Garrahy, those present were Deputy Chief Mark Gentile, Captain Brian Stevens,1st Lieutenant Jeff Gerace (and his son, Evan), Justin Gagnon, Bill & Ed Kelley, Steve Levins, and Todd McGowan, the engineer responsible for driving Engine 1.
