Two Men Shot and Killed Overnight in Hartford

Both victims were found in a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

HARTFORD, CT - Two men were killed in a double homicide in Hartford early Saturday morning, police said.

Police responded to the area of 18 Martin Street in response to a ShotSpotter activation of 13 shots fired around 2:05 a.m. Following this, police received several 911 calls of two persons shot while sitting in a car.

According to police, responding officers found two male victims inside a black car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were treated on scene before they were transferred to Saint Francis Hospital. Both men were pronounced dead around 2:40 a.m. at the hospital.

The victims were identified as Jeffery Vail, 28, of Hartford and William Ward, 33, of Hartford.

Police are currently investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Sergeant Reggie Early at 860-757-4248. Tips can be left anonymously online under "Submit a Tip."
