Vernon Police: Rocky Hill Man Found Wandering After Crash

He is facing several charges, police said.

VERNON, CT - A Rocky Hill man is due in court on June 14 to explain how police found him wandering aimlessly around the Rockville section of town after flipping his car.

Kyle Towle, 27, of 42 Pondside Lane, Rocky Hill, was charged with driving under the influence, marijuana possession and a lane violation on Saturday night, Vernon police said. He posted a $1,000 bond and was assigned the June 14 court date, Vernon police said.

The crash took place at 9:51 p.m. Saturday near 26 Union Street in Vernon - in the center of Rockville, police said. Towle was not injured, but police said an officer found him confused - not knowing where he came from or how he crashed.

The officer smelled alcoholic beverages on Towle and his eyes were red and his speech slurred, according to an arrest report.

Two breath tests yielded the same blood alcohol level of .240, according to an arrest report. A person is legally drunk in Connecticut if his or her blood alcohol level is .08 or higher.

About an ounce of pot was found in the car, police said. Towle was the sole occupant of the vehicle, police said.
