Women Can Recieve $2k Grant Toward Porter and Chester Institute in Rocky Hill Tuition

The grant is for women who are the primary wage earners in their household.

Women in Connecticut who are the primary wage earners in their household can apply for a grant to continue their education at a vocational or trade school.

The Farmington Valley chapter of Soroptimist International of the Americas will award a $2,000 grant to an eligible applicant. Submissions may be forwarded to the Northeast Region for an opportunity to receive an additional $5,000.

“The Farmington Valley chapter of Soroptimist International of the Americas is an important community resource that benefits local women as they work to create better lives for themselves and their families,” said Colleen Russo, vice president of educational funding at Porter and Chester Institute. “The Live Your Dream Award helps make career training a reality for its recipients.”

There is no cost to apply for the Live Your Dream grant. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2014.
