1 Person Seriously Injured In Early Morning Crash In Shelton: FD
The crash occurred Tuesday on Route 8 southbound.
SHELTON, CT — One person was seriously injured in an early morning crash Tuesday on Route 8 southbound in Shelton, according to fire officials.
The one-vehicle crash occurred at about 1:15 a.m. between exits 12 and 13, and required firefighters to cut the vehicle open to extract the injured driver, who was the sole occupant.
"As additional fire units arrived, hydraulic rescue tools were used to free the trapped occupant," Shelton fire officials wrote on Facebook (see below). "It took Members approximately 20 minutes to free the occupant from the wreckage."

The condition of the seriously injured driver was not available, and the crash remains under investigation.
