2 More Teens Charged In Shelton Stolen Firearms Case: Police
The case involves two firearms that were reported stolen from a Shelton home in October.

SHELTON, CT — Two additional teens have been arrested in connection with an October case in which two firearms were reported stolen from a home in Shelton, according to police.
Monday's arrest brings the number of teenage suspects in the case to four; the other two teens were arrested on Oct. 24.
"The arrests stem from an incident that was reported to Shelton Police on 10/17/2023, where two firearms were stolen from a Shelton residence," wrote Shelton Det. Richard Bango in a statement on the department's Facebook page. "During the investigation it was discovered that several persons had possession of the firearms."

Through interviews and follow up investigation, Shelton police obtained search warrants to search residences and vehicles in Shelton, Derby, and North Haven, during which, both stolen firearms were recovered.
On Monday, a 15-year-old Shelton boy was arrested and charged with two counts of illegal transfer of a stolen firearm, and two counts of carrying a pistol without a permit.

Also arrested was a 16-year-old Shelton boy, who was charged with two counts of stealing a firearm, and two counts of illegal transfer of a stolen firearm.
Both teens were remanded to Bridgeport Juvenile Detention and were arraigned on 11/21/2023. Shelton police remind the public that the charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
