$200k Grant Will Help Shelton With Downtown Development

The grant will help investigate contamination issues at former industrial sites.

SHELTON, CT — The city will receive a $200,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to help redevelop Canal Street.

Shelton has demolished seven contaminated and blighted building and participated in the clean-up of 14 acres of contaminated industrial sites, according to the Shelton Herald.

The grant will help investigate four properties in the north end of Canal Street to fully understand contamination issues.
