CHEESEBOY TO RELOCATE MILFORD, CONNECTICUT RESTAURANT FROM MALL TO 1-95 SERVICE PLAZA

Boston, Mass.; February 10, 2012Cheeseboy: Grilled Cheese to Go announced today that the company is relocating its original restaurant at the Connecticut Post Mall in Milford, Conn. to the southbound service plaza of I-95 in Milford.

Since opening in Milford in November 2009, Cheeseboy has quickly expanded to seven locations throughout the Northeast.  The mall location closed on February 8 and the new Milford location is expected to open in six weeks.

“We are grateful for the excellent start that Milford provided for growing our business,” said Cheeseboy Founder and President Michael Inwald. “Our new location will allow us to stay in Milford, while reaching both local customers and those from around the country who travel through the area.  This exposure will only serve to build our brand awareness as we prepare for additional growth and franchising this year.”

Inwald got the idea for a quick-service grilled cheese restaurant while enrolled in a start-up incubator program as an MBA candidate at the Yale School of Management. In the summer of 2009, he began testing his restaurant idea at county fairs throughout Connecticut.  Rave reviews led him to take a leave of absence from school to open his first restaurant at the Connecticut Post Mall, then named simply "Grilled Cheese to Go."

With his Connecticut location successfully launched, Michael began developing plans to take the company to the next level. In the summer of 2010, he relocated the company's headquarters to Boston, added to his executive team and researched real estate in the area, targeting Boston's South Station for the first location.

As Michael grew his business, friends affectionately began referring to him by the nickname "Cheeseboy." Preparing for the Boston launch, he took the opportunity to rebrand the restaurants as “Cheeseboy: Grilled Cheese to Go,” giving a more personal flavor to the company.

The company recently opened its seventh location at Providence Place Mall in Rhode Island and expects to begin franchising this year.
