Xiaofei “Sam” Yu of Huntington, a senior at Christian Heritage School in Trumbull, won 1st Honors at the Connecticut Science & Engineering Fair, held at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, from March 12 – 16, 2013.  Yu’s project, entitled “Research on the General Summation Formula of Any Sequence and Ancillary Results,” also earned him a 1st Place High School Trophy for Mathematics from sponsors People’s United Bank and ATOMIC (Associated Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut).

More than 15,000 students in Connecticut and several bordering New York state towns compete for the approximately 500 spaces at the state fair.
