"Over the last six years, the citizens of Connecticut have seen the two largest tax increases in state history," Jaumann wrote. "What has this policy done for Connecticut? Despite these historic tax increases, revenues have actually dropped dramatically, and continue to fall. Just this year, revenue projections required a special session of the legislature and what came from it? Massive cuts to education funding, massive layoffs of state employees, and massive cuts to funding for towns and cities throughout the state.

"The policies of the current leadership in Hartford are failing. If we continue to allow the leadership in Hartford to implement quick fixes to the state budget, we will continue to see cuts to vital funding for the education of our children and the important services our towns and cities provide."
