Ansonia Teen Whose Threats Shut Down School System, Back in Court in August

Ansonia, CT - GianCarlos Diaz, the 19-year-old Ansonia High School student whose alleged social media threats shutdown the entire school system for a day and half last month, is scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 5.

Late last week, the teen pleaded not guilty to the host of charges he faces in connection with the incident, reports the Connecticut Post.

Police were able to capture Diaz after tracking the threats, which were made through a cell phone app. He is charged with:

• Threatening in the Frist Degree
• Threatening in the Second Degree
• Breach of Peace Second Degree

Diaz, who was a senior at the high school, allegedly was being bullied at the school when he made the threats.

He remains free on bond.
