BlumShapiro and the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce (GNHCC) announced today that the Annual BlumShapiro Golf Classic will take place Monday, July 28 at the New Haven Country Club.
The BlumShapiro Golf Classic tournament, reception and raffle benefits the GNHCC Scholarship Fund for New Haven-area students interested in pursuing college degrees in business. To date, the fund has raised more than $48,000 to support undergraduate students.
“The BlumShapiro Golf Classic is an opportunity for golfers and others to have fun and at the same time give back to the community in a way that will help change lives of New Haven-area students,” said John Zinno, BlumShapiro Shelton Office Managing Partner and Chair of the BlumShapiro Golf Classic Planning Committee.

“We are honored to have BlumShapiro sponsor our 21st annual golf tournament, and we invite other businesses to join them and the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce in creating an entire day geared toward supporting our youth and their education,” said Tony Rescigno, President of the GNHCC.
The BlumShapiro Golf Classic on July 28 begins with registration at 10:30 followed by a cookout lunch at 11:30 a.m. Then, tee-offs of groups of four golfers in a shotgun scramble format begins at 12:30 p.m. A cocktail reception, awards presentation and raffle begin after the golf tournament at approximately 5:30 p.m. All non-golfers are invited to participate in the post-tournament activities.
