Bus Company Makes Changes in Wake of Sleeping Shelton School Bus Driver Arrest: Report

Derby resident Paul Pixley, 55, has been charged with nearly three dozen counts of risk of injury to a minor and other violations.

SHELTON, CT — In an effort to rebuild trust following the arrest of one of its drivers, Landmark Transportation, which buses Shelton's school children, will remove the local manager and the school system will better monitor the company's operations, reports the Connecticut Post.

Shelton's parents and school system were shaken by the arrest last month of Derby resident Paul Pixley, 55, on more than 30 counts of risk of injury to a minor and related charges when he discovered allegedly falling asleep while behind the wheel of a full school bus.

No children were injured, but Pixley allegedly had other similar problems staying awake while behind the wheel, according to the publication.
