Coronavirus Shelton: 4 More Deaths Reported

Three of the four were residents of a nursing home or similar facility.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton was notified of four more coronavirus-related deaths that occurred within the past week on Tuesday. Three of the deaths were connected to nursing home residents and the other death was a female resident in her 80s.

Shelton has had 65 coronavirus-related deaths reported, according to the Naugatuck Valley Health District. A total of 82 people have died in Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Shelton and Seymour.

Of the 82 dead, 68 were residents of nursing homes or assisted living facilities. About 28 percent of the valley's 829 cases are among nursing home, assisted living and other similar residents. Shelton has 339 confirmed cases total.

Coronavirus-related deaths are defined as patients who test positive for the disease around the time of death.
