Coronavirus Shelton Updates: 5 More Residents Die

Four residents in Shelton nursing homes/assisted living facilities died along with a resident who passed away at a hospital.

SHELTON, CT — The number of positive coronavirus cases in the Naugatuck Valley continues to grow, especially in Shelton which now has 263 confirmed cases along with 48 deaths.

There were six more coronavirus-related deaths in the Valley reported Tuesday, according to the Naugatuck Valley Health District. They include four Shelton residents who lived in nursing homes/assisted living facilities and a Seymour nursing home/assisted living resident. A Shelton resident who was an inpatient at an area hospital also succumbed to the disease.

In Connecticut coronavirus-associated deaths are defined as patients who test positive for the disease around the time of death. The Office of the State Medical Examiner determines the cause of death.
