We are starting a new service on September 13th at 7:30am! This will be a half hour long service that is perfect for anyone looking to worship early in the morning. 

As a parent, I also know that I am up early with my kids no matter if it is the weekend or not. So why not bring them to service? This is a sensory friendly space so everyone can feel welcome. 

What does "sensory friendly" mean?
	This service is made so that people of all needs can attend. If you need to move, move! If you need to stim with a fidget toy, crochet, knitting, etc, please do! If you need a drink or small food for the service to be comfortable, bring it! There will be a "cozy corner" in the sanctuary for those who need a smaller space to feel comfortable. Quiet fidgets, coloring, and other ways to stay engaged in the service will be provided. The lights will be soft and there will be no loud music.

On Monday, September 14, 2026 Humanists and Freethinkers of Fairfield County (HFFC) will feature
the Fairfield Country Rep of the American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut, Amber Vlangas, who will discuss the ongoing national attack on voting rights and how CT residents can help. &nbsp;She can also discuss other current issues on ACLU CT’s radar, including privacy, immigrant rights and protections for the right to demonstrate. 

Amber Vlangas is a civil liberties activist who has served as the Fairfield County Engagement Officer with the ACLU CT for nearly five years. After serving in the United States Marine Corps and earning her B.A. in Visual and Public Communication, Amber has spent more than 25 years in nonprofit outreach, organizing, and resource development. She currently serves on the steering committees and leadership teams of several national groups and co-hosts the podcast Amplified Voices.

The ACLU of Connecticut defends, promotes, and expands the civil rights and civil liberties of all people in Connecticut through litigation, community organizing and legislative advocacy, and civic education and engagement. Organized in 1948, it is an inclusive, non-partisan, and statewide organization within the nationwide American Civil Liberties Union network. 

This meeting is free and open to all.&nbsp;&nbsp;Join us in Wilton for the presentation and the social gathering beforehand.&nbsp; (We will supply the address after you register.) The Sarah Riggs Humphreys-Mary Silliman chapter, NSDAR is hosting a 45-minute presentation, led by the Volunteer Coordinator for the America250 Rose Parade float, “Soaring Onward Together,” and sponsored by the Semiquincentennial Commission – America250. 
You'll witness an incredible behind-the-scenes look at the entire process of creating the America250 float - from acceptance, design and construction through inspections, decorating, judging, transportation to the parade route, and ultimately the parade itself.Audience members will also have access to previously unseen video footage, as the story unfolds:&nbsp;more than 1,000 volunteers contributing over 7,000 volunteer hours to bring the float to life, in commemoration of our nation’s 250th anniversary!

This 45-minute program is free and open to the public, and other DAR chapters, local patriotic organizations, garden clubs, historical organizations, and others in the community won't want to miss this! Please be sure to RSVP&nbsp;to srhmsdarsocial@gmail.com - space is limited!

The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.
