Derby Sports Executive Survives New York Plane Crash
The CEO of Force3 Pro Gear is the sole survivor of the July 16 crash near Albany.

DERBY, CT — Jason Klein, president and CEO of Derby-based baseball equipment company Force3 Pro Gear, is the sole survivor of last weekend's small plane crash near Albany, NY, that killed three others, including Major League Baseball executive executive Susanne Hilgefort and husband Michael Mydlarz.
Klein is recuperating at Westchester Medical Center, according to post on his company's Facebook page, and the company is asking that those who wish to send get-well gifts do so to the facility's Maria Fareri Children's Hospital. See below.
Klein, who lives in Orange, and Force3 are the creators of a protective baseball catcher's mask, called the Defender, that is now slowly being integrated into MLB baseball, reports the New Haven Register.
