SHELTON, CT — The driver of an oil delivery truck who was seriously injured after the vehicle struck a house in Shelton last week has died, according to police.

In an email to Patch, Police Lt. Robert Kozlowsky confirmed Monday afternoon the driver had died and noted an investigation of the incident was ongoing.

Police have not released the identity of the driver at this time.

On Wednesday, fire officials said in a news release posted to Facebook the truck hit a house on Sheehy Lane around 11 a.m. When crews arrived at the home, they found the truck extremely close to the front of the home.

The driver was found unresponsive inside the vehicle and taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, officials said.

The home was later deemed habitable, however it sustained minor damage, according to fire officials.
