Oil Truck Crashes Into Shelton Home, Driver Seriously Injured: FD

Fire officials said the driver of an oil delivery truck was seriously injured after the vehicle struck a house in Shelton.

SHELTON, CT — The driver of an oil delivery truck was seriously injured after the vehicle struck a Shelton home Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.

In a news release posted to Facebook, fire officials said the truck hit a house on Sheehy Lane around 11 a.m.

When crews arrived at the home, they found the truck extremely close to the front of the home. The driver was found inside the vehicle and was unresponsive, officials said.

Crews immediately removed the driver from the truck so Echo Hose Ambulance could provide patient care. Once an ambulance arrived, firefighters secured the truck and checked for any fluid, officials said.

No additional hazards were found around the house or truck and the home was deemed habitable, however it sustained minor damage, officials said.

Shelton and State police are investigating the incident. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, officials said.
