Effort Launched to Aid Shelton Contractor
A GoFundMe page, called "Pete's Project," has been launched to help Pete Whaley complete a home renovation for his daughter.

SHELTON, CT — Friends, family and colleagues are banding together to help Shelton resident and contractor Pete Whaley complete a home renovation after a series of unfortunate incidents, reports the New Haven Register.
The home was for his daughter and her then-husband, who died of cancer. Since then, Whaley had struggled with repairing the home, in part because it needed more work than expected, and after his wife took sick and he needed to care for her.
To help Whaley, friend and colleague Jen Ryan has created a GoFundMe page in an effort to raise $25,000 to compete the renovation. Unfortunately, the home has been under repairs for years, and Whaley faces the possibility of being fined under the city's blight ordinance.

"So I am reaching out to our customers, friends, family and community to ask that you do the same to find the resources to help," Ryan writes. "We are working with a charitable organization called Westbridge Inc to provide some of the necessary labor. At our current stage, all of the plumbing, HVAC, concrete and electrical have been donated!"
