The Hops Company to Host 'Beer for Beasts' Dog Day
The Hops Company, a Connecticut beer garden, will host Beer for Beasts on Saturday, April 29 in Derby.

From Miller Ryan LLC: The Hops Company, Connecticut’s only authentic beer garden, will host Beer for Beasts on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 12pm until 4pm. Partnering with Sixpoint Brewery, Shelton Animal Shelter and Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter, the event will allow guests to bring their leashed dogs to partake in an afternoon of fun activities at The Hops Company’s back garden. $1 from the sale of each Sixpoint beer will be donated to the Shelton Animal Shelter and Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter.
A celebration of beer, people and our faithful four-legged companions, Beer for Beasts will feature:
- KC101 FM, providing music and giveaways
- Dog costume contest
- Raffle opportunity to have your dog’s likeness turned into a Sixpoint Pup emoji
- Pet adoption opportunities
- US Army dog demonstrations
- Selfie station
- Vendor booths
- Sharon Warner- Animal communicator
- Pet blessing by Father John Gorecki
- Zuppardi’s Pizza truck
Umberto Morale, owner of The Hops Company said, “The Hops Company is always looking for ways to give back to our local community. Beer for Beasts is a great opportunity that will help benefit our local animal shelter, as well as provide a fun day for animal lovers and their dogs to experience our expansive outdoor garden.”

Elaine Spinato, treasurer and volunteer with Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter said, “Our mission is to find permanent, loving homes for our animals and to ‘Adopt, Not Shop’. We couldn’t be happier that The Hops Company is hosting this great event, helping support local animals in need.”
