SHELTON, CT — A Shelton man is accused of swinging a broom at a police officer and injuring a K-9 during a recent incident, according to officials. Officers on patrol were in the area of Cathy Drive in Shelton on May 22 when they saw Raymond Paszkowski, 60, pull into his driveway, according to Det. Richard Bango.

Bango said Paszkowski had two outstanding arrest warrants and police knew his license was suspended and his vehicle was unregistered and uninsured.

“When Officer Dan Loris and his K-9 Stryker approached Paszkowski, he ran and grabbed a shop broom and began swinging it at the officers and Stryker,” Bango wrote in a news release. “Stryker was able to apprehend Paszkowski but was injured in the process.
