Man Robbed Ansonia Bank To Impress Taylor Swift: PD

A Derby man is in trouble, trouble, trouble after allegedly robbing a bank to impress singer Taylor Swift.

ANSONIA, CT — A man allegedly believed that robbing a bank would impress singer Taylor Swift, according to police.

Bruce Rowley, 26, robbed Webster Bank on Division Street April 4, police said. He entered the bank without concealing his face, demanded money from a teller and left. A dye pack exploded on some of the money and on Rowley.

Rowley was arrested a day later on April 5 after a I-95 car chase that started in Rhode Island and ended in Connecticut.

Rowley told police that he threw some money over the fence at Swift's Watch Hill mansion and that he planned to donate some of the stolen money to Ansonia Police in order to impress her, police said, according to TMZ.

He was charged with second-degree robbery and fourth-degree larceny. Rowley is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
