Misguided priorities

Mom just had a stroke. Her Doctor , treating her for High Blood pressure, prescribed a medication for congestion that has a warning about blood pressure on the box. Mom's pressure went through the roof, causing her to be hospitalized. Mom subsequently suffered a mild stroke. I am not  implying that the stroke was caused by the medication, but shouldn't the Doctor have been more attentive and aware that this patient was susceptible to these kinds of medications? This doctor sends a bill for $50 for Mom's missed appointment because of the stroke. I called the doctors's office to contest this bill  and was told this matter isn't closed and we are deciding whether to cancel that billing?  Really
