Artistic Director Ellen Dickinson will conduct the combined Festival Chorus and Chamber Chorus in this performance of Rachmaninoff's choral masterwork. The All-Night Vigil, noted for its rich and luminous harmonies, is the composer's setting of texts drawn from the liturgy of the Russian Orthodox Church. The concert will be performed a capella and in Old Church Slavonic and will begin at sunset, as befits the canonical hour of Vespers, by which name the work is commonly known. The resonant acoustics of the concert venue make it ideal for this performance.
Tickets: $20 at the door or reserve in advance at tickets@musiconthehillct.org.
