SHELTON, CT — A new HomeGoods store is set to open in Shelton later this month, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for Oct. 26.

Arielle Abramek, a HomeGoods spokesperson, confirmed to Patch the store is relocating from its previous Trumbull location, 100 Hawley Lane, to its new address at 862 Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton.

"We are always assessing and reviewing our real estate strategies," Abramek said in a statement sent to Patch, "and our decision to relocate this store reflects that thinking."

HomeGoods will open in a space formerly occupied by Bed, Bath and Beyond, the closure of which was announced back in 2020.

Rumors that HomeGoods would occupy the space began spreading earlier this year when a Planning and Zoning Commission agenda for March 8 listed the chain as the applicant for signage approval at the former Bed, Bath and Beyond building.

HomeGoods sells a variety of home decor, as well as seasonal items, linens, cooking products and other home accessories. The Shelton store will open near a number of other large chain stores, including TJ Maxx, Staples, Stop and Shop and ShopRite.
