
David J. “Red” Ellsworth, age 55, of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Griffin Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Derby on August 17, 1965, son of John and Rosemarie (Lanzeri) Ellsworth and was a lifelong Shelton resident. David was a basketball standout while attending Shelton High School. He played slowpitch softball for Philips Medical and Porky’s Cafe. David was also an umpire and referee for many years with the local leagues. He was an avid New York Mets and Minnesota Vikings fan. Most of all, he enjoyed attending his children's sports events.
David was the loving father of Stefanie and Brandon Ellsworth, brother of John Ellsworth, former spouse of Pam Ellsworth, longtime friend Karen Merrill. He was also survived by several Aunts, Uncles and Cousin.

On Saturday, friends may greet the family from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. His funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm at the parlor. Family and friends are required to wear masks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Boys and Girls Club, 1 Positive Place, Shelton, CT 06484.
