
Donald E. Jayne, Sr., age 86, of Shelton entered into rest on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Newtown Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. He was the devoted husband of 33 years to the late Mary Ann (Wagner) Jayne and a longtime beloved partner and companion to the late Irene Pasmeg. Don was born in Bridgeport on May 7, 1934 son of the late Hal and Caroline (Dudley) Jayne and was a longtime resident of the Huntington section of Shelton. He Honorably served in the Army National Guard of CT and US Army Reserves and was a Manager of Quality Control with Metallurgy at Textron-Lycoming for over 30 years until his retirement along with running his own Ceramic Tile business for many years. Don enjoyed woodworking and loved the outdoors, especially in Maine. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was the beloved father of Donald Jayne, Jr. and his wife Janet; Susan Toth and her husband John; and Michael Jayne and his wife Cathey. He was a beloved Brother of Kenneth Jayne, Carol Lazzara, Nancy Corr and the late Robert Jayne. Don was the loving grandfather of Justin Toth, Kyle Johnston, DJ Jayne, Cody Jayne, Ariel Toth, Angela Toth and Hal Jayne and was also survived by several nieces and nephews. A walk-through visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday from 5 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. A Celebration of Life will be held at a location and date to be announced.
