Opponents of Shelton's Shelter Ridge Development Voice Concerns
The project calls for the construction of apartments, retail space and office space.

SHELTON, CT - The proposed mixed-use development called Shelter Ridge in Shelton was called too big and unnecessary from a tax revenue standpoint by some residents and city officials during a public hearing about the project Wednesday.
The Connecticut Post reports that several opponents spoke against the development during the Planning and Zoning Commission hearing. The proposed project would sit on 121-acres on Bridgeport Avenue and Mill Street.
Representatives of the project said the residential/retail/office building development could generate about $3.4 million combined in property taxes annually.
