P&Z Decision Reached On Controversial Shelter Ridge Development In Shelton
Developers propose to build a massive mixed-use project on more than 120 acres on Bridgeport Avenue and Mill Street.

SHELTON, CT — The controversial Towne Center at Shelter Ridge in Shelton was approved by the city's Planning and Zoning Commission Wednesday night, despite the continued opposition of dozens of area residents, reports the Connecticut Post.
Commissioners voted 4-2 in favor of the massive mixed-use project, which will sit on more than 120 acres on Bridgeport Avenue and Mill Street. Some residents angrily shouted at commissioners during the meeting, threatening to vote them out of office after the approval.
The project, which could take an estimated 10 years to complete, still must past muster with the Inland Wetlands Commission, and Save Our Shelton, a grassroots opposition group, is vowing to continue its fight.
