Pit Bull Viciously Attacks Dog at Shelton Dog Park, Help Needed to Find Owner

The dog that was attacked sustained serious injuries including a broken rib, a deep puncture wound and internal injuries.

On Saturday, Dec. 27 around 1 p.m. while at the Shelton Dog Park, a resident’s dog was viciously attacked by a Pit Bull.

Mike Ucci said his 3-year-old Shiba Inu sustained serious injuries including a deep puncture wound in her back, a broken rib and serious internal, life-threatening injuries that required dangerous emergency surgery. Ucci said his dog Bailey almost did not survive.

“Thankfully she is coming home today,” Ucci told Patch, after being at the vet’s since Saturday.

The attacking dog’s owner immediately fled the scene following the incident. “Once the attacking dog was separated from mine, its owner quickly left the area with his dog without providing his contact info or even acknowledging the incident,” Ucci said.

The offending dog is a young, light brown female Pit Bull, weighing approximately 40-50 pounds.

Ucci describes the fleeing Pit Bull owner as a heavyset white male, approximately 6 feet tall, 45-years-old with bald/balding hairstyle, black glasses, and a black jacket. His vehicle is a blue SUV or minivan type with a roof rack.

Ucci said he frequents the Shelton Dog Park with his Pit Bull.

Shelton Animal Control Officers are working with Ucci to find the owner of the Pit Bull.

If you witnessed the incident or you can identify the fleeing owner and/or dog, please call or email Michael Ucci as soon as possible at 203-710-8175 or Ucci2103@gmail.com.

“If you are this owner described please take responsibility and call me,” Ucci said.
