POLL: Starbucks Raises Prices
A spokesman for the coffee giant said that the increase amounts to about a 1 percent change in prices in its Northeast region, including Connecticut Starbucks locations.

Starbucks fans, have you noticed a change in the price of any of your favorite beverages lately?
Although is playing its cards close to the vest about a price increase it implemented throughout its Northeast and Sunbelts regions on Tuesday, Jan. 3, a Starbucks spokesperson confirmed to Patch Wednesday that the price increases do impact the coffee giant's Connecticut stores.
The spokesperson declined to specify the nature of the price increases, or what products at the store they affect, but noted that it was not an "across-the-board price change." Some items increased in price, while some items will remain priced the same, the company spokesperson who declined to be identified said by e-mail.

"The average increase in ticket across the two regions is approximately 1 percent," the e-mail continued. "For example, in NYC tall brewed coffee and tall latte beverages prices increased by $0.10. Pricing for a grande brewed coffee, our most popular beverage, remains unchanged across all markets and the price for a grande latte remains unchanged across most markets."
The spokesperson attributed the price increase to "adjustments" the retailer needed to make in order to "balance" the cost of doing business in competitive markets such as the Northeast and the Southwest, including changes in wholesale coffee prices, fuel costs, and other materials associated with its business. The price increases will not affect California or southern Florida.
