Shelton Coronavirus Update: 125 Deaths Reported
Around 200 of Shelton's 478 lab-confirmed coronavirus cases are linked to nursing homes and assisted living facliities.
SHELTON, CT — The Naugatuck Valley Health District now has 1,422 confirmed coronavirus cases; of that 408 are linked to residents of nursing home or similar facilities. There have been 148 deaths among the 408 nursing home or assisted living residents who have tested positive.
Another 13 coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the health district Monday, but some date back to between April 24 and May 15. There have been 104 lab-confirmed coronavirus deaths in Shelton and 24 probable; Derby has had two confirmed coronavirus deaths.
Connecticut is planning to test all nursing home residents whether symptomatic or not on the same day. The number of confirmed cases could go up dramatically after this is completed.
