Shelton/Derby Updated Coronavirus Figures
Shelton has the most coronavirus cases out of any town in the Valley; nearly half are connected to nursing homes and assisted living.
SHELTON, CT — Around 43 percent of Shelton's lab-confirmed coronavirus cases are connected to local nursing homes and assisted living facilities as of June 3.
Around 28 percent of the confirmed coronavirus cases in the Naugatuck Valley are residents living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities or similar living conditions; 170 of the Valley's 457 nursing home/assisted living residential cases have been fatalities.
The health district includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Naugatuck, Seymour and Shelton. Overall there are 1,617 lab-confirmed cases in the Valley, 188 lab-confirmed deaths and 32 probable COVID-19 deaths.
