Shelton Football Stops Amity, 28-17
Frank Camerino rushed for two touchdowns for the Gaels, who improved to 5-2

After spotting Amity an early lead Friday, the Shelton football team defeated the Spartans 28-17 to improve to 5-2 and rebound from last week's 35-0 loss to top-ranked Xavier.
Frank Camerino rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns - both in the first half - for Shelton, which fell behind 7-0 when Amity's Tyler Vallie tossed a 10-yard TD pass to Cole German.
But Camerino reached the end zone of runs of 6 and 9 yards, sandwiched around Eddie Groth's 68-yard touchdown strike to Kyle Drost, as the Gaels took a 21-10 lead at the half.

Next week, Shelton will host Fairfield Prep, which also improved to 5-2 with a 28-14 victory over Hamden on Friday.
