Shelton Football Opens With 27-18 Win Over Wilbur Cross
Frank Camerino throws three TD passes for the Gaels

New starting quarterback Frank Camerino accounted for four touchdowns Friday as the Shelton football team defeated Wilbur Cross 27-18 in New Haven in the season opener for both teams.
Camerino fired three touchdown passes and also rushed for a score as the Gaels rallied from a 18-14 halftime deficit.
Shelton took a 21-18 lead in the third quarter on Camerino's 32-yard TD strike to Eddie Kochiss, then added an insurance score in the fourth quarter on Camerino's 3-yard TD run.

In the first half, the quarterback threw TD passes of 20 yards to Gary Thompson and 23 yards to Kyle Drost.
In addition to passing for 79 yards, Camerino rushed for 118 yards as the Gaels got their season off to a good start.

Senior running back Demarco Ware scored on a 75-yard punt return and a 66-yard reception for Wilbur Cross, which took an 18-14 halftime lead on Javon Taylor's 25-yard strike to Kyle Holmes.
