Shelton Man Accused Of Violating Protective Order In Prison: Police
Police said a jailed Shelton man is accused of violating a protective order by making and receiving 70 phone calls with a protected person.

SHELTON, CT — A Shelton man is accused of violating a protective order by making and receiving approximately 70 phone calls with a protected person while in prison, according to police.
In a news release, Police Det. Richard Bango said the man was arrested in December on several domestic violence charges, including seven counts of violation of a protective order.
The man was incarcerated after his arrest and a protective order was issued that required him to have no contact with the protected person, Bango said.

During his incarceration, the state Department of Correction alerted Shelton police the man was suspected of having phone conversations with the protected person, Bango said.
After further investigation, police discovered the man had made and received approximately 70 phone calls with the protected person while in prison, using fictitious names and codes to hide their identities, according to Bango.

The man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of violation of a protective order and remained incarcerated on an additional $10,000 bond, Bango said.
